What does the Health Hub concept mean for you?

According to our conception, a Hub is a place where entrepreneurs, researchers, students and public bodies can meet, share and grow. This is made possible thanks to a favorable environment and efficient contacts with deciders and the presence of Cetanā®, a specialized consulting company with a solid experience of the health industry market.

What is the purpose of this Health Hub?

Across the OECD, there is convergence around major health concerns such as productivity, competitiveness, innovation, employment support, cooperation, integration, sustainable development and governance. Regarding such challenges, the French Health Hub project shouldn’t be taken as a revamped business center concept. It goes well beyond. Its vocation is to be an international laboratory of competitiveness, a place to enhance and integrate innovation for the benefit of all health actors.


When and where will the French Health Hub be opened?

This project should be implemented in two major phases. The first step will take shape in 2017 with the relocation of Cetanā®in Nihonbashi. Why Nihonbashi? Because it is the the historic cradle of the Japanese pharmaceutical industries. Even today, major Japanese pharmaceutical companies have their headquarters there. Moreover, Nihonbashi is undergoing an ambitious revitalization plan articulated around the Life Sciences. For a foreign company that targets North East Asia markets, Nihonbashi is a key to success.

What kind of support will be offered to French companies through the Health Hub?

French health firms will first benefit from an optimum accessibility (several metro stations, Tokyo station and bus stops nearby) and a position at the center of a dynamic information crossroads. Being surrounded by facilities such as large conference rooms, companies will also be able to attend or organize scientific and commercial meetings. An international agora will allow informal and networking exchanges. On top of that, the Cetanā® trilingual team will work together with French companies towards the achievement of goals, offering on demand support, incubation services, coaching, regulatory advices, etc.

Would you recommend to set-up in Japan outside Tokyo?

A distinction should be made between being established in Japan, that is to say having a representative office of subsidiary “somewhere” in Japan, and making business where the opportunities are really given. While it is true that for a research laboratory or a production unit for instance, Japanese regions are a relevant choice, we should keep in mind that Tokyo weighs 75 % of all Japanese commercial transactions. Above all else, a potential exporter to Japan should pay attention to any factors that may differentiate them and their company from other competitors. In this regard, there is no better location than the one where one entrepreneur is able to set-up quicly at a reasonable cost, a place where they are kept updated in real time and accompanied by qualified experts. This is the unique and competitive package advantage which lies in the F2H.


Is the F2H available exclusively to French companies?

The initial idea is to enable French health companies to set-up in Japan as quickly, safely and easily as possible. Other European companies will be granted an access to the F2H upon request, within the limitations of available space.
